Introduction
mAGE424U40-PCI-E-EXP is the most high density of PCI-e (Host) to SAS/SATA (Disk) storage product line of iStarUSA. It's not only an external storage capacity expansion for up to 24 hard drives, but also features up to PCI-Express slots expander to solve the PCI-e slot shortage problem in server or workstation while you want to expand the big storage capacity as well as the PCI-e slots.
The unit is designed to provide up to seven PCI-e slots for plugging any standard SAS/SATA PCI-e RAID card to configure the mAGE424U40-PCI-E-EXP to be a RAID subsystem and any PCI-e add-on cards when PCI-e slot is short in a server or workstation. It means mAGE424U40-PCI-E-EXP only requests a PCI-e slot from host server but provides a mass storage capacity and 7 more PCI-e slots to customer.
